About the SAICA Graduate Trainee Programme
This programme is designed to provide graduates with comprehensive, three-year in-house training endorsed by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). Successful candidates will undergo training within the municipality’s treasury departments, preparing them for SAICA Articles.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of draft estimate reports
- Assisting in the preparation of the Annual Report and Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
- Drafting the annual and multi-year operating and capital budgets
- Managing compensation for occupational injuries and disease costs
- Performing reconciliations for financial reporting
- Providing for bad and doubtful debts
Competencies Required
- Strong accounting, budgeting, and financial management knowledge
- Costing and organisational awareness
- Planning and organising skills
- Excellent communication
- Team orientation and learning orientation
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent with Accounting as a major
Preferred Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) with Accounting as a major
