About the OPFA
The OPFA was established in terms of Section 30B of the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956, to investigate and resolve pension fund complaints in a fair, economical, and efficient manner.
This ICT Internship offers an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to gain practical experience within a professional government environment while contributing to digital transformation and ICT support services.
About the ICT Internship
The ICT Internship Programme is aimed at graduates interested in building a career in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems. The successful candidate will gain exposure to various aspects of ICT operations, systems support, troubleshooting, and project coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and network issues.
- Log and classify ICT incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support ICT systems and escalate complex issues to senior staff when necessary.
- Assist in documenting ICT change requests, updates, and system releases.
- Maintain ICT documentation and ensure proper record-keeping (electronic and paper).
- Support ICT team members in coordinating project-related activities.
- Assist with ICT audits, risk register updates, and asset management.
- Help prepare monthly ICT operations, budgets, and payment reports.
- Participate in ICT meetings and assist with meeting logistics and minutes.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or line manager.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A tertiary qualification (NQF Level 7) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to express complex ICT concepts clearly.
