Life Healthcare invites suitably qualified unemployed graduates to apply for a 12-month Human Resources Internship Programme based at its Head Office in Dunkeld, Johannesburg.

This programme is designed to provide practical workplace experience to graduates who have completed Human Resources and/or IT-related qualifications, supporting skills development in a real-world healthcare environment.


Internship overview

  • Position: Internship Opportunity | Unemployed Graduates | Human Resources
  • Number of Interns: 5
  • Duration: 12 months (fixed-term contract)
  • Monthly Stipend: R6,000 per month
  • Function: Human Resources
  • Programme Registration: Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority (HWSETA)

Successful candidates will be placed in one selected Human Resources function aligned to their field of study and will be required to remain based at the Dunkeld Head Office for the full duration of the programme.


Purpose of the internship

This internship aims to:

  • Provide practical workplace exposure to unemployed graduates
  • Support professional development and skills transfer
  • Build capacity in key Human Resources functions within the healthcare sector

Human Resources functions available

Applicants must indicate one preferred HR function they wish to gain experience in:

  • Payroll
  • HR Systems (preferably candidates with an IT qualification)
  • Skills Development
  • Organisational Development and Transformation
  • Resourcing / Recruitment and Selection

Minimum requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be unemployed at the time of application
  • Be a South African citizen under the age of 35
  • Have completed a relevant HR Diploma or Degree
  • Applicants for HR Systems must have completed an IT Diploma or Degree
  • Qualification must be fully completed (no students still studying)
