The Department of Electricity and Energy (DEE) invites suitably qualified South African graduates to apply for its Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/2027 – 2027/2028 financial years. This programme is aimed at empowering unemployed graduates with practical workplace experience within the public service, while contributing to the department’s mandate in the electricity and energy sector.
Graduates with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. The internship programme runs over a fixed period and is intended to bridge the gap between academic training and formal employment.

Minimum Requirements and Fields of Study
Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:
- Degree / BSc in Physics
- Degree in Chemistry
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering
- National Diploma in Public Administration or Public Management
- National Diploma / Degree / BCom in Business Management
- Degree in Law / Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- National Diploma or Degree in Internal Audit

Applicants who have previously participated in any Government Internship Programme will not be considered.

Applications must be submitted using the 2021 version of the Z83 form, accompanied by a comprehensive CV only.

- Complete Sections A, B, C and D of the Z83 form in full.
- Sections E, F and G may state “refer to CV” where space is limited, except the question on re-appointment under Section F, which must be answered.
- Initial each page and sign the declaration on the Z83 form.
