Undergraduate (BEng / BSc)
You can apply if you plan to study:
- Chemical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Chemistry (up to Honours level)
- Geology (up to Honours level)
- Data Science (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research)
Undergraduate (BEng Tech)
- Mine Surveying (University of Technology only)
Postgraduate (MSc / MEng / PhD)
Fields include:
- Chemical Engineering (Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Process Modelling)
- Chemistry (Catalysis, Polymer Science, Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry)
- Cyber Security
- Data Science (Applied Mathematics, Statistics)
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be under 30 years of age
- Intend to study full-time at a recognised university
- Have strong academic performance
Important Academic Requirements
- Mathematics (NOT Maths Literacy) is required
- Only degree programmes are accepted (no diplomas)
- Distance learning (e.g., UNISA) is not accepted

- Only one application per applicant is allowed
- Applications must be submitted online only
- Incomplete or incorrect applications will be disqualified
- Selection is highly competitive
- Awards are based on academic merit and Sasol business needs
