About the SHRA Compliance Internship Programme 2026
The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is a Schedule 3A public entity of the Department of Human Settlements, established in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). SHRA is responsible for regulating and promoting affordable rental social housing for low- to middle-income earners across South Africa.
SHRA is offering a two-year internship opportunity aimed at providing unemployed graduates under the age of 35 with valuable workplace experience in the compliance and regulatory environment.
The programme forms part of SHRA’s Young Graduate Programme, which seeks to equip graduates from universities and universities of technology with practical skills and industry exposure.
Internship Details
Compliance Internship

Position: Compliance Officer Intern
Department: Compliance, Audit and Risk (CAR)
Reporting To: Compliance Manager
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 24 Months
Monthly Stipend: R11 172.49

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
- Three-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Law
- Business Management
- Auditing
- Qualification must be at NQF Level 7
- Computer literacy skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
Added Advantage
- Certificate in Compliance Management

- No experience required
