The South African Reserve Bank is inviting students to apply for the SARB Art Scholarship Programme 2027.
This scholarship is aimed at financially needy South African students who are pursuing Fine Arts qualifications at recognised and accredited tertiary institutions in South Africa.
The scholarship is fully funded and supports students who are committed to developing their artistic practice and continuing their studies in Fine Arts.
Fields of Study Covered
The SARB Art Scholarship will be awarded to Fine Arts students studying towards the following qualifications:
1-year Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts, after completing a 3-year undergraduate diploma in Fine Arts.
Final year of a 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Fine Arts.
Honours Degree in Fine Arts, after completing a 3-year undergraduate degree in Fine Arts.
Master’s Degree in Fine Arts.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be South African citizens.
Applicants must be under the age of 35.
Applicants must be registered to study towards one of the listed Fine Arts qualifications in 2027.
Applicants must have been accepted to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
Applicants must be in financial need and unable to afford tertiary studies without a scholarship.
Academic Requirements
Applicants must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65% for their studies in the 2026 academic year.
Applicants must submit academic transcripts for 2025 and 2026 on the institution’s letterhead.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within one month after the closing date.
Applicants who do not receive feedback within this period should consider their application unsuccessful.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews.
Successful applicants will be expected to sign an agreement with the South African Reserve Bank.
