NEMISA Digital Ambassador Vacancies 2026

The National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa is recruiting 32 Digital Ambassadors under the Ya Rona Digital Programme 2026.

Successful candidates will be based at selected TVET College campuses across South Africa and will help communities gain basic digital literacy skills.

This opportunity is suitable for young people who are computer literate, community-focused and passionate about digital skills development.

Digital Ambassadors will be based at TVET College campuses and will support communities in surrounding areas.

Eastern Cape

King Sabata Dalindyebo TVET College: 2 posts
Areas include Mthatha, Libode, Mapuzi / Coffee Bay Area, Mngazi, Ngcobo and Elliotdale in the OR Tambo District Municipality.

East Cape Midlands TVET College: 2 posts
Areas include Uitenhage / Kariega townships, Despatch, Motherwell, Zwide, KwaNobuhle, New Brighton, KwaZakhele and Walmer Township.

KwaZulu-Natal

Elangeni TVET College: 2 posts

Main Purpose of the Job

Digital Ambassadors will attend training on identified basic digital literacy modules.

They will then provide training to community members on basic digital literacy skills as guided by the Ya Rona Digital Programme.

The role is aimed at improving digital inclusion and helping communities gain practical technology skills.

Job Objectives

Successful candidates will learn and apply basic digital literacy skills through training modules.

They will actively participate in training sessions to build the required knowledge.

They will mobilise and encourage community members to participate in digital literacy training programmes.

They will facilitate and conduct digital literacy training for community members.

They will liaise with the Project Manager, organisations and municipalities to secure venues for community training sessions.

They will develop and maintain a weekly training plan for community training activities.

They will also ensure that allocated weekly training targets are met.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have Matric / Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants must be computer literate.

Applicants may also have one of the following:

National Certificate Vocational.

NATED qualification.

Occupational Certificate.

Applicants must have at least 1 to 2 yearsโ€™ working experience in any field.

Ideal Qualifications

The following qualifications and experience will be advantageous:

Post-matric qualification.

Computer certificate.

TVET NCV Level 4.

N6 qualification.

ICT-related occupational certificate.

Digital certification.

Facilitation or training experience.

Diploma or degree in ICT, Education or a related field.

Ideal Experience

Prior experience in training, facilitation, tutoring or community development work will be advantageous.

Applicants should have strong practical knowledge of digital tools such as the internet, email, Microsoft Office and online platforms.

Applicants must be bilingual in English and one other locally spoken language.

Applicants should be able to work independently and manage community-based learning activities.

Job-Related Knowledge and Skills

Applicants should have basic knowledge of computer packages.

Applicants should have analytical skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

Applicants should have report writing skills.

Computer literacy is required.
