Gauteng Tourism Authority Internship Programme 2026
GTA is recruiting graduates for two creative digital and multimedia internship opportunities aimed at strengthening its online presence, destination marketing and visual storytelling.
Both internships are offered on 24-month temporary contracts and carry a stipend of:
R6,000 to R7,000
The internships are suitable for graduates in digital media, multimedia design, graphic design, communications, marketing, journalism, film, television production and related fields.

Creative Digital Design & Content Production Internship
Reference Number: DCP/2026
Contract: 24 months
Stipend: R6,000 โ R7,000
The successful candidate will assist GTA with digital content creation, visual communication, multimedia production and online audience engagement.
The role includes supporting integrated digital content strategies for GTA and Visit Gauteng across websites, social media, digital campaigns and other communication platforms.
Minimum Requirements for Creative Digital Design & Content Production
Applicants should have a National Diploma or Degree in:
Digital Media
Multimedia Design
Graphic Design
Digital Communications
Marketing
Journalism
Film and Television Production
Public Relations
or a related field.
Applicants should also have knowledge of digital content creation, multimedia storytelling and visual communication.
Experience or proficiency with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Adobe Audition and Canva will be relevant.
Key Responsibilities
The intern may assist with digital storytelling, social media content, campaign graphics, infographics, posters, presentation materials and promotional content.
The role also includes video production, photography, podcast support, website content management and digital publishing.
The successful candidate may assist with content calendars, digital campaigns, performance reporting and monitoring of audience engagement across GTA platforms.
Digital Analytics and Innovation
The intern will also assist with collecting and analysing digital performance data.
This may include preparing dashboards and performance reports and identifying emerging trends and technologies that can improve GTA’s digital communication and destination marketing activities.
Multimedia Visual Content Creator Internship

Contract: 24 months
Stipend: R6,000 โ R7,000
GTA is also recruiting a Multimedia Visual Content Creator intern to support photography, videography and visual storytelling.
The intern will assist with producing content that showcases Gauteng’s tourism attractions, events, experiences, lifestyle and destination brand.
Minimum Requirements for Multimedia Visual Content Creator
Applicants should have a Diploma, National Diploma, Degree or relevant qualification in:
Multimedia Production
Digital Media
Visual Communication
or a related field.
Candidates should have basic experience in photography, videography, video editing, multimedia production and digital storytelling.
Applicants should also understand camera operation, lighting, audio recording and post-production processes.
Multimedia Skills Required
Candidates should have an interest in social media, digital marketing and visual content creation.
The role also requires knowledge of social media content planning, digital design, digital copywriting and platform-specific content requirements.
Strong computer skills, including Mac applications and Microsoft Office, are also required.
Applicants must be able to work flexible hours when required, including weekends and public holidays.
Key Duties for the Multimedia Visual Content Creator
The intern will assist with planning, capturing, editing and producing photography and video content.
The role may include creating short-form and long-form videos, destination campaigns, social media content and event coverage.
The successful candidate will also help maintain GTA’s digital content bank, photo library and video archive.
Other duties may include livestreaming, campaign support, content partnerships, stakeholder engagement and development of visual assets for tourism promotion.
Expected Outcomes
The programme aims to improve the availability of high-quality destination photography and video content.
It also seeks to strengthen GTA and Visit Gauteng’s digital content libraries, destination storytelling, social-media reach and brand visibility.
