The internship provides graduates with an opportunity to gain practical financial management experience within a municipal environment.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:
- B.Com degree; or
- National Diploma in Cost Accounting, Finance or Auditing, majoring in Accounting.
- Computer literacy, particularly MS Office applications.
- A valid Code B driver’s licence or learner’s licence.
- Financial accounting-related work experience is recommended.
Key Attributes and Competencies
Applicants should have good oral and written communication skills in English and at least one other official local language.
Candidates should also be comfortable working with financial information and performing duties within a professional municipal environment.
Key Responsibilities
Successful Financial Management Interns will assist with:
- Implementation of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) and budget reforms.
- Development of statistical reporting modules.
- Development of financial policies and procedures.
- Capturing and maintaining financial data.

Graduate Engineer Job Purpose
The successful candidate will apply professional engineering principles and manage technical procedures and processes to address engineering requirements for internal and external clients.
The role includes research and evaluation of best practices, development of cost-effective engineering approaches, guidance on proposals and design concepts, and contract and project management.
