Absa Fellowship Programme 2026: Applications Now Open

Absa is inviting young South Africans to apply for the prestigious Absa Fellowship Programme 2026. This life-changing opportunity supports the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to create meaningful impact in their communities and across Africa.

About the Absa Fellowship Programme

The Absa Fellowship Programme is more than just a scholarship – it is a transformative leadership journey. Each year, 50 outstanding applicants are selected to benefit from academic funding, mentorship, leadership development, and entrepreneurship training.

The programme equips fellows with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to thrive in the private sector, public sector, or as entrepreneurs, driving sustainability, innovation, and growth across Africa.


Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Age: Between 18 and 25 years old
  • Academic performance: Minimum 65% pass mark (based on June 2025 preliminary results or final matric results)
  • Study field (2026 first-year undergraduate at a public university in SA):
    • Commerce
    • Humanities and Social Sciences
    • Science (including health sciences, excluding medical/veterinary)
    • Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
    • Creative Arts
    • Digital/Data Design
  • Applications must be submitted in the name of the prospective student (not parent/guardian).

Application Process

  1. Phase 1: Pre-screening – Applications checked for minimum requirements.
  2. Phase 2: Psychometric Assessment – Successful candidates receive a voucher code from Absafellowship@fundi.co.za.
  3. Phase 3: Shortlisting – Based on assessment results.
  4. Phase 4: Interviews – Final candidates invited for interviews.

  • Applications must use the student’s own personal details (name, email, cellphone number, etc.).
  • Absa will not engage with parents/guardians regarding applications.
  • Applications are open to all students – no preference is given to children/relatives of Absa staff.
