African Commodity Handling Projects (ACHP) invites unemployed youth to apply for Technical Apprenticeship Opportunities 2026.

Location: Kusile Power Station (Local Communities)
Target Areas: Emalahleni, Victor Khanye Municipality & Bronkhorstspruit Region 7

These Internal/External Apprenticeships are aimed at local communities around Kusile Power Station, offering hands-on technical training and structured workplace exposure in critical artisan trades.


Available Apprenticeship Opportunities (2026)

The following technical apprenticeship positions are open:

  • Electrician x2
  • Mechanical Fitter x2
  • Boilermaker x2
  • Rigger x2
  • Control & Instrumentation x2

⚠️ Attention: These opportunities are reserved for candidates residing in the specified local communities.


Key Responsibilities

Successful apprentices will be expected to:

  • Successfully complete theoretical learning, practical training, and skills assessments
  • Complete all required documentation (logbooks, skills and training records)
  • Maintain a safe working environment in line with safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate effective communication, good behaviour, and teamwork
  • Take ownership of performance and self-management
  • Provide accurate reporting on tasks completed

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 or N3 with Pure Mathematics and English (minimum 50% pass)
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and their functionality

Advantageous Qualifications

The following will be an added advantage:

  • N4–N6 qualifications
  • Computer literacy
  • Previous workshop experience

Skills and Competencies

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Basic numeracy skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective time management
  • Sound communication skills
  • Ability to work well as a team player
