About the AGSA / Solarpop Bursaries 2026

The African Global Skills Academy, in partnership with Solarpop, is offering bursary funding to eligible students who have outstanding fees for the 2026 academic year.

The bursary is open to students studying towards qualifications in any field of study, provided they are registered at a recognised and accredited higher education institution in South Africa.

Students living with disabilities are also encouraged to apply.

What Does the Bursary Cover?

The AGSA / Solarpop Bursary is intended to assist eligible students with their outstanding fees for the current 2026 academic year.

Unlike bursaries restricted to specific qualifications, this opportunity is available to qualifying students studying in any field.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Be African, Coloured or Indian, male or female.
  • Have completed Matric.
  • Have outstanding fees for the 2026 academic year.
  • Be studying towards a qualification in any field of study.
  • Be studying at a recognised and accredited higher education institution in South Africa.

Students living with disabilities are encouraged to submit applications.

Documents Required

Applicants must submit clear copies of the required supporting documents. These include:

  • ID document โ€“ certified copy not older than six months.
  • Matric certificate โ€“ certified copy not older than six months.
  • Latest academic transcripts.
  • Proof of registration at a recognised South African tertiary institution.
  • Latest financial statement from the tertiary institution showing the outstanding fees.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Motivational letter supporting the bursary application.
  • Medical certificate stating the nature of the disability, where applicable.

Applicants should ensure that all compulsory documents are included, as incomplete applications may be disqualified.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates are expected to be contacted within three weeks after the closing date.

Applicants who have not received feedback within this period should consider their applications unsuccessful.
