About the Graduate Analyst Programme (GAP)

The Graduate Analyst Programme aims to build a diverse and high-performing pool of analysts within Allan Gray.

The programme offers structured learning, mentorship from senior leaders, and exposure to multiple areas of the business.

Successful candidates will rotate through different departments, gaining broad experience across the organisation.


Programme Structure

During the programme, trainees rotate through several business units, including:

  • Product Development
  • Retail Client Experience
  • Investment Team
  • Institutional Clients

Each trainee is paired with a senior leader who acts as a mentor and guides their professional development.

In the second year, trainees may also be eligible for an international rotation at the London office of Allan Gray’s sister company, Orbis Investments.

Because the intake is intentionally small, participants receive highly personalised training and development.


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following academic criteria:

  • A degree in one of the following fields:
    • Commerce
    • Science
    • Technology
    • Engineering
    • Mathematics
    • Statistics or Quantitative disciplines

Academic performance requirements:

  • Minimum 80% average in English and Pure Mathematics in Matric
  • Minimum 75% average across all final-year university subjects

Applicants must also submit:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Full University Academic Transcripts
