Internship Overview

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), through its Human Settlements Department, is offering an 18-month internship programme for graduates seeking practical experience in public administration and municipal operations.

This opportunity allows interns to gain exposure to strategic planning, administration, research, and government processes within the Executive Director’s Office.


Programme Details

  • Position Title: Executive Director’s Office Intern
  • Reference: Circular 008/2026
  • Duration: 18 Months
  • Stipend: R10 104.26 per month
  • Department: Human Settlements

Key Responsibilities

Interns will:

  • Provide administrative and support services
  • Assist with planning and implementation of programmes
  • Perform data capturing, filing, and office administration
  • Support event planning and coordination
  • Assist with marketing and communication tasks
  • Handle customer queries and service delivery support
  • Contribute to reports, business plans, and strategic documents

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6/7) in:
    • Business Management
    • Business Administration
    • Public Administration / Public Management
    • Journalism / Media
