About Coega Development Corporation: The Coega Development Corporation (CDC) is headquartered in the City of Gqeberha, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, South Africa, with an operational footprint in South Africa and beyond in the African continent. CDC’s vision is to be a catalyst for socio-economic development through the development and operation of the Coega Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The CDC is involved in economic zone development, real assets management, infrastructure planning and development, technology integration, and socio-economic impact areas such as skills and SMME development.
About the Internship: This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital media and web development. Interns will work with a team of experienced professionals, receive mentorship, and contribute to digital media initiatives and software projects. Please note that this is an internship designed to provide valuable learning experiences and support academic or career growth.
Responsibilities and Desired Skills:
Website Maintenance and Development:
- Assist in maintaining and updating the organization’s websites to ensure content accuracy and freshness.
- Work on front-end web development tasks to enhance the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).
- Manage and optimize the content management system (CMS) for efficient website operations.
- Collaborate with the Digital Media Specialist to integrate web analytics tools and implement basic SEO practices.
- Contribute to software development projects aimed at enhancing functionality, efficiency, and user experience.
- Execute digital, online, advertising, and print media-related projects from concept to production/implementation.
- Log digital-related job numbers and track work done for each job.
- Manage web content administration to ensure brand consistency following Coega CI manual.
- Implement algorithms related to modern marketing to increase brand visibility.
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Relevant qualifications in IT (Software Development/Web Development)
- Computer literacy
- Must not be older than 35 years of age
- Permanent residence in Gqeberha
