Competition Commission: Cadet Graduate Training Programme 2026

The Competition Commission of South Africa is inviting applications from high-achieving graduates to join the 2026 Cadet Training Programme (Graduate Development). This is a 24-month fixed-term programme designed to provide in-depth training and hands-on experience in competition economics and law, supporting the Commissionโ€™s Vision 2030 of a Competitive, Dynamic, Deconcentrated, and Inclusive economy.

About the Programme

This exciting programme offers graduates the opportunity to deepen their expertise in competition law, economics, strategy, finance, and governance while contributing to South Africaโ€™s economic transformation. On successful completion, cadets may apply for growth opportunities within the Commission.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a South African Citizen.
  • Completed Honours degree in one of the following fields:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Human Capital Management
    • Human Capital / Organisational Development
    • Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law, Public Policy, or related fields
  • Strong academic record (70% and above will be an advantage).
  • No prior working experience in the same field.
  • Evidence of proactive engagement in initiatives beyond coursework.
  • Excellent interpersonal, research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.

Additional Considerations

  • All international qualifications must be accompanied by a SAQA accreditation certificate.
  • Shortlisted candidates may undergo psychometric assessments.
  • Successful candidates will be vetted for security purposes.
  • The Commission reserves the right not to fill positions.
