Council for Geoscience invites South Africa unemployed graduates to apply for 24 months Technical Services Internship Programme 2023 / 2024.

Job Title : Technical Services – Internship Programme X 4
Position Status : 24 Months Fixed Term Contract
Reporting Line : Manager: Technical Services

Overall Job Purpose : To review and evaluate prospecting data and information, to assess the mineral exploration expenditure of South Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review prospecting reports, and extract relevant prospecting data and information.
  • Monitor mineral rights applications every 6 months.
  • Conducts geo-scientific investigations or research under guidance and supervision.
  • Participates in statutory and occasionally commercial projects and publishes research findings internally and/or externally.
  • Gives formal scientific or technical presentations of papers or reports, internally and externally with guidance at conferences or symposia.
  • Gives scientific advice to the public and private sectors within established guidelines.
  • Ensures that work is conducted within the required ISO standards.

QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12; and
  • Honours Degree in Geology, Economic Geology, Exploration Geology or related geoscience field.
  • A valid driver’s license (C1) will be an added advantage.
