The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting applications for its Graduate Internship Programme 2025/2027, offering 24-month paid internship opportunities across various fields.


Available Internship Opportunities

1. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Internship

  • Total Posts: 3,812
  • Monthly Stipend: R7,450.62
  • Requirements:
    • Three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Environmental Health, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Construction-related Engineering, Occupational Health/Hygiene/Analytical Chemistry, Explosives Management, or Explosives Engineering.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Duties: Assisting with workplace inspections, enforcing Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations, investigating incidents, and providing administrative support.

2. Basic Conditions of Employment (BCEA) Internship

  • Total Posts: 3,727
  • Monthly Stipend: R7,450.62
  • Requirements:
    • Three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in Labour Relations, BCom Law, LLB, or Labour Law.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Duties: Conducting compliance inspections, investigating complaints regarding BCEA violations, and supporting inspectors.

3. Employment Equity (EEA) Internship

  • Total Posts: 513
  • Monthly Stipend: R7,450.62
  • Requirements:
    • Three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in BCom Law, LLB, or Labour Law.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Duties: Assisting with Employment Equity Act compliance inspections, investigating related complaints, and supporting inspectors.

4. Employer Audit Service (EAS) Internship

  • Total Posts: 1,948
  • Monthly Stipend: R7,450.62
  • Requirements:
    • Three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF7) in a relevant field.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Duties: Conducting employer audits, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and assisting in investigations.
