Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, situated in the North West Province near Klerksdorp, is inviting qualified candidates to apply for the Financial Management / Internal Audit Internship.
The internship is located within the Office of the Municipal Manager, Internal Audit Unit.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with at least one of the following major subjects:
- Internal Auditing
- Auditing
- Financial Accounting
- Risk Management
- Good interpersonal relations and high degree of ethics
- Communication skills
- Report writing skills
- Knowledge of local government legislation and the Constitution of the Republic
- Understanding of local government oversight processes and responsibilities
Key Performance Areas
The successful intern will assist with:
- Conducting audit projects
- Preparing and seating Disciplinary Board and Audit and Risk Committee meetings
- Administrative support for both Internal Audit and Audit and Risk Committee
- Delivery of the risk-based annual internal audit plan
- Completion of assigned audits
- Planning, fieldwork and reporting activities
- Ensuring adherence to the municipal internal audit methodology
