Eastern Cape Dept of Transport (ECDOT): Traffic Bursaries 2024

Eastern Cape Department of Transport (ECDOT) is welcoming applications from South African students for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

The ECDOT (Eastern Cape Department of Transport) Bursary program is offering opportunities for students to obtain a NQF level 4 Traffic Officer Diploma. If you’re interested, here’s what you need to know:

Program Overview: This program is aimed at students who want to pursue a Traffic Officer Diploma at NQF level 4. It aims to increase the number of traffic officers in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. There are a total of 150 bursaries available, distributed across various districts.

Expenses Covered: The bursary will cover expenses for accommodation, meals, study-related costs, and a uniform.

Selection Process: Applicants will undergo fitness and driving assessments, qualification and criminal record checks, as well as a medical assessment.

Program Obligations: Successful candidates will participate in a one-year training program, which includes both classroom and fieldwork. They will also enter into a one-year bursary contract with the Department.

Eligibility Requirements: Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizen.
  • Resident in the Eastern Cape province.
  • Not older than 35 years old.
  • Completed Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Interested in pursuing a Diploma in Traffic.
  • Willing to enter into a 1-year bursary contract with the Department.
  • Hold a Code-B driver’s license (manual transmission).
  • Unemployed.
  • Committed to the full duration of the bursary program.
  • No criminal record.
  • Medically fit.
