The FAIS Ombud is recruiting a graduate trainee to join the Client Care Department as part of its Graduate Recruitment Programme.
The programme is structured to provide graduates with practical workplace experience, competency-based training and mentorship while helping build a pipeline of skilled entrants into the labour market.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be South African citizens with valid South African identity documents.
Candidates must have an:
Office Administration Diploma at NQF Level 6
Applicants should also have a strong academic background, computer literacy and an interest in public service and the financial sector.
Candidates must be energetic, self-driven, deadline-focused and able to work in a demanding environment.
What the Programme Offers
Successful graduates will be assigned to the Client Care Department and will receive training under the guidance of a dedicated mentor.
Participants will gain exposure to complaints submitted by members of the public against financial service providers.
The programme also provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers, financial planners, investigators and negotiators.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will assist with:
- Registering new complaints.
- Assessing whether complaints fall within the jurisdiction of the FAIS Ombud.
- Guiding complainants on jurisdictional matters.
- Identifying the key issues contained in complaints.
- Requesting additional information where required.
- Referring matters outside the FAIS Ombud’s jurisdiction to relevant organisations.
- Liaising with complainants and financial service providers.
Skills and Competencies
Applicants should demonstrate strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
Candidates should also be able to work effectively under pressure, manage deadlines and contribute positively in a team environment.
