Hessequa Local Municipality: Bursaries 2024

Hessequa Local Municipality invite students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

Bursary application closing date is 31 January 2024.

Bursary Programme Fields:

• Accounting
• Civil Engineering
• Economics
• Electrical Engineering
• Finance
• Infrastructure
• Internal Audit
• Risk Management
• Supply Chain Management

Bursary Coverage and Selection:

• The bursary will cover one year of study.
• Successful candidates will be contacted, and if no feedback is received within 30 working days after the closing date, the application should be regarded as unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:

• South African citizenship.
• Reside within the Hessequa Municipal area in the Western Cape.
• Between 17 and 35 years old.
• Completed Matric.
• Studying or intending to study towards a Degree in one of the specified fields in 2024.
• Registered to study at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
• Strong academic record.
• Not receiving another bursary award or NSFAS funding.
• Desire to uplift and change the community.
• Financial need.
• Students with disabilities and historically disadvantaged students are encouraged to apply.

• Submit clear copies of required supporting documents along with the application form.

Required Supporting Documents:

• ID document (certified copy: not older than 3 months)
• Matric certificate
• Proof of qualification/latest examination results
• Proof of tertiary registration (on institution’s letterhead)
• Proof of residential address (recent municipal account)
• Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed: certified copy, affidavit if unemployed, etc.)
• Proof of disability, if applicable (letter from a medical doctor confirming permanent disability)
• Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae
