The Institute for Landscape Architecture in South Africa (ILASA) invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.
Bursary application closing date is 22 November 2023.
The ILASA Bursary Programme is aimed at supporting South African students pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture at accredited institutions. The bursaries cover partial expenses and are awarded based on academic achievement, financial need, university requirements, and the ILASA bursary policy.
Bursary Coverage and Service Contract
- The bursary provides partial coverage for registration fees, tuition fees, and in exceptional cases, residence fees.
- The maximum bursary amount per student is R40,000.
- Awards are disbursed directly to tertiary institutions and service providers.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizenship or naturalized citizenship
- Studying or intending to study Landscape Architecture at SACLAP accredited institutions (University of Cape Town, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, University of Pretoria)
- Minimum overall average of 60% in the previous year of study
- Demonstrated financial need, preferably from a previously disadvantaged background
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply

- Indicate “StudentRoom.co.za” as the referral source.
- Submit required documents: ID documents, proof of income for parents/guardians, academic records, and a motivational letter via email to ilasa@ilasa.co.za and nadia@citygreenla.co.za with the subject line “ILASA Bursary 2024.”

- Successful applicants will sign the ILASA Bursary Agreement.
- Final selection is done by the ILASA NEC.
- Confirmation emails will be sent upon receipt of applications.
