Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12
- A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Risk Management
- Auditing
- Or equivalent qualification
- Computer literacy (including spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel)
- Must be unemployed
- Must reside within the Midvaal Local Municipality area
Preference will be given to candidates who promote representativeness in line with Employment Equity targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The internship programme focuses on practical training in local government finance and administration. Interns will:
- Assist with the billing process (rates and service charges)
- Support customer care in the income section (queries and complaints)
- Assist with cashiering when required
- Complete National Treasury reporting templates
- Assist with reconciliations
- Perform general administrative duties
- Assist with Expenditure and Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions
- Support Asset Management functions
This programme aims to provide structured workplace training to prepare candidates for potential future roles in municipal finance. However, permanent appointment after completion is not guaranteed.
Preferably, applicants should have their own transport.
