The Musina Local Municipality invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024

The Musina Local Municipality offers bursaries to students residing within the municipality (Limpopo) intending to pursue studies in various fields.

- Human Resources
- Human Settlements
- Information Technology
- International Relations
- Mechanical Engineering
- Media Studies
- Project Management
- Public Administration
- Public Relations
- Tourism
- Town Planning
Covered Expenses:
- Registration fees, tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, and accommodation.
Service Contract:
- Bursary recipients are obligated to engage in a service contract with the municipality post-graduation, typically ranging from 1 year to the number of years of funding received.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria:
- Strong academic record
- Residency within the Musina Local Municipality, Limpopo
- Currently in Matric (in 2023) or completed Matric
- Pursuing or intending to pursue a qualification in the specified fields in 2024
- Enrolled or planning to enroll at a recognized and accredited South African tertiary institution
- Hailing from a disadvantaged community
- Parents or guardians unemployed, indigent, or earning less than R3,500 per month
- Financial need impeding the affordability of tertiary studies
- Not a child of a councillor or official
Application Process:
- Download and complete the Musina Local Municipality Bursary Application Form (.pdf)
- Include “StudentRoom.co.za” as the referral source in the application.
- Submit clear copies of the specified supporting documents along with the completed application form.
Required Supporting Documents:
- ID document/birth certificate (certified copy)
- Matric June results (if in Matric), Matric certificate (if completed Matric) (certified copies)
- Proof of tertiary institution enrollment
- Proof of residence (rates account/water and lights statement)
- Parents/guardians’ ID documents/birth certificates/death certificates (certified copies)
- Parents/guardian affidavit
- Reference letter from the school principal (if currently in Matric)
