Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA) Bursary 2026

The Paper Manufacturers Association of South Africa (PAMSA) is inviting eligible students to apply for its 2026 bursary programme. This prestigious bursary is aimed at students pursuing Master’s degree studies in Chemical Engineering and is open to final-year students and recent graduates from select South African universities.

Value: R320,000 over 2 years (covers tuition and research)

Students must be registered at one of the following institutions to be eligible:

  • Stellenbosch University
  • University of Johannesburg
  • University of the North-West
  • University of Pretoria

What Does the PAMSA Bursary Cover?

  • Up to R320,000 over two years
  • Covers tuition fees and research expenses
  • Real-world research opportunities in pulp, paper, and bio-based materials
  • Potential employment as an engineer-in-training at a PAMSA member company

Who Should Apply?

To qualify for the PAMSA Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Preferably a South African citizen
  • Final-year BEng/BSc Chemical Engineering student or graduate
  • Must have completed the degree within 5 years or less
  • Must plan to register for a Master’s in Chemical Engineering in 2026
  • Must be accepted at a participating university
  • Must have a minimum average of 60% in the final year of undergraduate studies
