South African National Parks (SANParks) is the leading conservation authority responsible for managing South Africa’s national parks, protecting over 3.7 million hectares of land across 20 national parks. SANParks derives its mandate from the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003).
SANParks is now inviting unemployed graduates to apply for its Internship Programme Opportunities 2026, offering practical workplace exposure within one of South Africa’s most respected conservation institutions.
Internship Programme Overview
- Programme: SANParks Internship Placement Programme
- Duration: 12 months
- Monthly Stipend: R6 355.69
- Internship Location: Garden Route National Park
- Closing Date: 10 February 2026
SANParks is under no obligation to permanently employ interns after completion of the programme.

Requirements
To qualify for the SANParks Internship Programme, applicants must:
- Be unemployed graduates aged 18 – 35 years
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or 7)
- Qualification must be from a South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI)
- Must not have previously participated in any internship or placement programme
- Must reside in the Eastern Cape Province
Salary / Stipend
- R6 355.69 per month
