South32 invite students to submit applications for the Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

South32 is offering the Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi Bursary Scheme for the 2024 academic year. The bursaries are available to students residing within the Joe Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) district in the Northern Cape and Hotazel Manganese Mine’s Employees’ children. Students pursuing studies in various fields, including Engineering, Geology, and Economic and Management Science, are encouraged to apply.

Selection & Renewal:
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview and assessment.
- Bursaries are awarded for one academic year and are renewable based on academic performance and conduct.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Reside within the Joe Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) district (Northern Cape) or be a child of a Hotazel Manganese Mine employee
- Under 21 years old
- Completed Matric
- Studying or intending to study full-time towards a Degree or Diploma in 2024
- Accepted to study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa
- Strong academic record
- Preference given to students from designated groups as per the company EE Plan and residents of JTG and Broader Northern Cape
