South32 is inviting students from the King Cetshwayo District, KwaZulu-Natal to apply for the Dr Xolani Mkhwanazi Hillside Bursary Scheme 2026. The bursary provides financial assistance for undergraduate Degree or Diploma studies across a wide range of fields.

Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate Degree or Diploma studies in (but not limited to) the following fields:
- Commerce, Law and Management (Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Business Science, Law)
- Computer Science and Information Technology
- Engineering, Built Environment and Architecture (all disciplines)
- Health Sciences (Medicine, Nursing, etc.)
- Humanities (Arts, Social Sciences, Education, etc.)
- Science (Mathematical, Physical, Earth, Actuarial, and Biological Sciences)
- Other disciplines may also be considered.
About the Bursary Programme
- Selection will be based on academic excellence and other criteria.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interviews and assessments.
- Applicants who do not receive feedback by 30 November 2025 should consider their application unsuccessful.
- Bursaries are awarded for 1 academic year at a time, renewable based on academic performance and conduct.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Reside within the King Cetshwayo District, KwaZulu-Natal.
- Be under 21 years old.
- Be currently in Matric (2025) or have completed Matric.
- Be studying or intending to study full-time towards an undergraduate Degree or Diploma in one of the approved fields.
- Be studying or intending to study at a recognised South African tertiary institution.
- Have a strong academic record.
- Preference will be given to designated groups.
