TUT Counselling Psychology Internship Programme 2027
The Tshwane University of Technology Department of Student Development and Support is offering three Counselling Psychology internship opportunities at its Pretoria West Campus.
The programme will run for 12 months and is expected to begin on 02 January 2027.
Successful interns will provide counselling and developmental support to registered TUT students while gaining supervised practical experience in individual therapy, group counselling, psycho-education and student wellness activities.

Who Can Apply?
The internship is intended for postgraduate students preparing to complete professional training in Counselling Psychology.
Applicants must be:
- Currently registered as Master of Arts students in Counselling Psychology.
- Registered at a recognised university.

Main Purpose of the Internship
The internship will provide structured practical experience in psychological counselling and student development.
Successful candidates will support the emotional, personal and academic wellbeing of TUT students through counselling, mentorship and psycho-educational interventions.
Interns will also gain experience working with children through individual and group counselling services provided at a local children’s home.
Critical Performance Areas
Successful interns will be expected to:
- Provide professional and competent personal counselling services to registered TUT students.
- Offer therapeutic support to students at the Pretoria West Campus.
- Assist students in developing academic and personal skills.
