VUT Is Hiring Part-Time Lecturers (x8 Posts)

Vaal University of Technology (VUT) invites qualified professionals to apply for part-time lecturer positions in the Department of Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering. A total of 8 posts are availableโ€”6 in Metallurgical Engineering and 2 in Chemical Engineering.

Part-Time Lecturer: Metallurgical Engineering (x6 Posts)

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification: Masterโ€™s degree in Metallurgical Engineering
  • Experience: At least 2 years in teaching or industry
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and report-writing
    • Computer literacy (MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, ITS)
    • Strong interpersonal, time management, and critical thinking skills

Duties Include:

  • Academic leadership (lecturing, invigilation, assessment)
  • Curriculum development
  • Preparing teaching and learning materials
  • Student and academic administration
  • Performing departmental ad-hoc duties

Part-Time Lecturer: Chemical Engineering (x2 Posts)

Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification: Masterโ€™s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in teaching or industry
  • Skills: Same as above

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lectures and assess students
  • Enhance and update curriculum
  • Maintain subject files and course materials
  • Support with administration and academic reporting
  • Undertake tasks assigned by the line manager
