Gauteng College of Nursing: Bursaries 2021

Gauteng College of Nursing is offering Bursaries Programme for 2021 academic year.

Bursary application Closing date is 07 August 2020

Nationality: South African citizens

The Gauteng College of Nursing Bursary will be awarded for Nursing (Diploma) studies at one of the following College campuses:

  • Ann Latsky Nursing Campus
  • Bonalesedi Nursing Campus
  • Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing Campus
  • SG Lourens Nursing Campus

Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • South African citizen
  • Reside in the Gauteng Province
  • In possession of a Senior Certificate/ National Senior Certificate OR currently in Grade 12/ studying towards a National Vocational Certificate Primary Health
  • Studying or intend on studying towards a Nursing (Diploma) qualification
  • Studying or intend on studying at one of the following institutes: Ann Latsky Nursing Campus/ Bonalesedi Nursing Campus/ Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing Campus/ SG Lourens Nursing Campus
  • Current Matric students: must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements with their Grade 11 final results
  • Students who have completed a Senior Certificate: must have achieved the following minimum results (“D” symbol for English HG OR “C” symbol for English SG C), (“D” symbol for Biology HG OR “C” symbol for Biology SG), (“D” symbol for Mathematics HG OR “C” symbol for Mathematics SG C) (M score of 17)
  • Students who have completed a National Senior Certificate: must have achieved the following minimum results (level 4 for English), (level 4 for Life Sciences), (level 4 for Mathematics OR level 5 for Mathematics Literacty) (APS of minimum 27: Life Orientation counts half the score)
  • Students who have completed a National Vocational Certificate: must have achieved the following minimum results (50% for Fundamental Subjects including: English First Additional Language; Mathematics OR Mathematics Literacy & Life Orientation) (60% for Vocational Subjects including: SA Health Care System; Public Health; The Human Body and Mind and Community Oriented Primary Care)

Must also possess the following skills/ attributes:

  • Leadership ability

How to apply

Please follow these instructions to submit your application
1) Register an account here: http://www.nursingintake.gpg.gov.za/PublicNursing/NewProfile.aspx
Fill in all the required details, and do not leave any information out
2) Login here http://www.nursingintake.gpg.gov.za/Login/Login.aspx
Login using your ID Number and Password
3) Click on the “Update Resume” section to fill in all your information (including personal details, school and training backgroung, work history and references)
4) When you have filled in all your information, click on the “Training Programme” section to apply
5) Now click “Apply” and you should see your profile details displayed on the screen
6) Select centre and add in all 4 centres in order of preference (starting with your most preferred choice first)
7) Once you are sure that all the information you have submitted is correct, click “Submit”
*Important: please make a note of your Reference Number after submitting your application
 

You may be required to submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Latest academic record (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration/ acceptance to study towards a Nursing (Diploma) at one of the above-mentioned institutes
