Purpose of the Programme
The Electrical Apprentice opportunity at AECI Plant Health offers hands-on learning for aspiring electricians. This role is designed to help you gain both theoretical and practical experience in electrical maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting, aligned with Merseta apprenticeship requirements.
You will be trained in repairing, servicing, and testing electrical equipment, including 3-phase motors and building wiring, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete theoretical and practical modules of the apprenticeship programme
- Assist in the servicing, installation, and repair of electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment
- Assist in new installations and upgrades
- Adhere to quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Use electrical testing tools and document maintenance reports
- Support the team in commissioning and testing equipment
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with N3 Electrical post-matric qualification
- Awareness of SANS 10142 wiring code and OHSAct
- Knowledge of Merseta apprenticeship structure
- Computer literacy and basic report writing skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
