About the Apprenticeship Programme
Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, has opened applications for 8 Apprenticeship positions in Mechanical and Avionics. This is a 24-month programme designed to develop young talent in the aviation sector by providing on-the-job training with experienced technicians.
The programme gives successful candidates exposure to mechanical and avionics work on various aircraft models, preparing them for a career in the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under mentorship of a Mechanical/Avionics Technician on diagnosis and repair of aircraft systems.
- Assist in disassembly, adjustments, and modifications of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems.
- Participate in Flight Line, Short Visit Maintenance, and Heavy Maintenance activities.
- Support with fueling and de-fueling of aircraft.
- Learn aircraft documentation processes and record-keeping.
- Operate ground power and other aircraft service units.
- Maintain service equipment and monitor company vehicles.
- Follow safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent (Essential).
- Completed recognized theoretical Aviation Training course/qualification in Mechanical or Avionics (Essential).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
