About the Programme
The Phakamile Mabija Apprenticeship Programme provides young people with hands-on training and practical skills in the following trades:
- Refrigeration
- Welding
- Fitting and Turning
- Boilermaking
This is an opportunity to obtain a nationally recognised qualification (Red Seal) while gaining workplace experience and earning a stipend.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be between 18–35 years of age and meet the following academic requirements:
- Boilermaking: N2 Qualification with passed Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Boilermaking Trade Theory.
- Fitting and Turning: N2 Qualification with passed Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Fitting and Turning Trade Theory.
- Welding: NQF Level 4 with passed Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Platers Trade Theory.
- Refrigeration: N2 Qualification with passed Engineering Maths, Engineering Science, Drawings, and Electrical Trade Theory.

- CV
- Certified copies of ID and qualifications
- Proof of residence
- SARS registration number
- Proof of banking details
