The SADPMR Internship Programme is a 24-month structured graduate programme designed to prepare young professionals for careers in internal auditing and public sector governance.

Interns will gain hands-on exposure to:

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • National Diploma, BCom, or Degree in:
    • Internal Auditing
    • Auditing
    • Accounting
    • Risk Management
    • Related qualification
  • Completed NQF Level 6 qualification or Degree
  • South African citizen
  • Aged between 18 and 35 years

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • High attention to detail and integrity
  • Willingness to learn and grow professionally

Key Responsibilities

Successful interns will be involved in core internal audit functions, including:

  • Assisting with internal audits in line with the annual audit plan
  • Supporting audit planning activities such as risk assessments
  • Participating in audit fieldwork and data collection
  • Preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation
  • Assisting with audit reports, findings, and recommendations
  • Supporting follow-up audits and tracking corrective actions
  • Maintaining audit records and performing administrative duties
  • Upholding confidentiality, ethics, and governance standards
