Smart Solar System Training Development Programme 2026
eThekwini Municipality, in partnership with Plentify (Pty) Ltd, is inviting unemployed youth to participate in the Smart Solar System Training Development Programme.
This is a three-month project aimed at equipping participants with practical skills in installing home energy management systems.
The programme includes classroom training in theory as well as practical on-site training components.
Smart Solar Programme Requirements
Applicants must have a Technical Matric Certificate or N3 Technical Matric with Electrical and/or Plumbing trade subjects.
Applicants must be South African citizens with valid identity documents.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
Applicants must have a Code 8 or Code 10 driverโs licence.
Applicants must be unemployed.
Applicants must reside within the eThekwini Municipality area.
Proof of residence will be required.
Applicants must be able to read, write and follow instructions in English.
Applicants must be physically fit and able to perform manual work.
This includes working at heights, rooftops, ceilings and confined spaces.
Applicants must be willing to participate in training and work-based activities.
