About the Bursary Programme:
- Bursaries are available for the 2024 academic year.
- Fields covered: Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the Actom Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- South African citizenship.
- Completed Matric.
- Intending to study one of the specified Engineering qualifications in 2024.
- Accepted to study at a recognized and accredited institution in South Africa.
- Minimum overall average of 60% in academic results.
- Proven financial need, determined by household income.

- Download and complete the Actom Bursary Application Form 2024 (.pdf)
- Enter “StudentRoom.co.za” in the field asking how you heard about the Actom bursary.
- Submit clear copies of required supporting documentation along with the completed application form.
- Applications must be submitted via email to thandile.moreriane@actom.co.za, with “Actom Bursary 2024” in the email subject line.
Required Supporting Documents:
- ID document (certified copy – not older than 3 months)
- Matric certificate/statement of results (certified copy)
- Proof of acceptance for 2024 (on institution’s letterhead)
- Schedule of financial requirements/fees from the tertiary institution
- Proof of address (certified copy)
- Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of SASSA grant or pension if applicable)
Closing Date:
- 26 January 2024 (12:00 mid-day).
- Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted, so it’s crucial to apply before the closing date.
