About the Learnership

This programme provides hands-on training and theoretical learning to prepare candidates for a career as Chemical Process Operators. Learners will gain experience working with plant equipment and chemicals under the supervision of qualified operators.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Plant Operators with daily operational tasks
  • Perform duties as instructed by the Production Team Leader
  • Operate plant under supervision and later independently once competent
  • Participate in NQF 2 plant operation unit standards training
  • Handle packaging (bags, drums, bulk containers) and raw materials
  • Perform general housekeeping in plant areas
  • Complete production and process documentation accurately
  • Work safely in confined spaces and at heights
  • Undergo forklift training as required
  • Be available for shift work and overtime

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Essential)
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, data entry)
  • Age: 18 to 25 years old
  • Must be medically fit for working in a chemical plant environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced industrial setting
