Cani Rusks, in partnership with FoodBev SETA, invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Millwright Apprenticeship Programme 2025.

Apprenticeship Duration: 3 to 4 years (based on performance)


About the Apprenticeship

This fully funded apprenticeship is ideal for passionate, hands-on individuals with a strong interest in both mechanical and electrical systems. The programme offers a structured path combining theoretical training and on-the-job experience, ultimately leading to a Trade Test qualification as a Millwright Artisan.


What You’ll Learn

  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Practical skills in a real food production facility
  • Trade theory supported by FoodBev SETA
  • Workplace mentorship from experienced artisans and engineers

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizen
  • Currently unemployed
  • Matric certificate with Maths and Science (minimum pass required)
  • Technical subjects or N2–N4 qualifications are advantageous
  • Keen interest in mechanical and electrical systems
  • Committed to completing the 3–4 year apprenticeship
