Canyon Coal invites qualifying students to apply for Bursary Programme 2024 academic year.
Bursary Application Closing Date: 28 December 2023.
The Canyon Coal Bursary Programme for the 2024 academic year offers financial support for students pursuing mining-related fields of study. The bursary covers tuition, accommodation, and book allowances.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- South African citizenship.
- Currently in Matric in 2023 or completed Matric.
- Intending to study a mining-related field listed (Electrical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Geology (BSc), Mine Survey (BSc), Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Safety Management) in 2024.
- Studying or provisionally accepted at a South African university.
- Interest in joining the Mining Industry.
- Minimum average of 65% for major subjects (if currently studying).
- Preference given to:
- Previously disadvantaged students from the host community.
- Students in financial need.
- Local tertiary institution applicants.
- Female students and students with disabilities.
HOW TO APPLY:
- Download and complete the Canyon Coal Bursary Application Form 2024 (PDF).
- Specify “StudentRoom” as the referral source.
- Submit clear copies of the required documents:
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate or latest results (certified copy)
- Tertiary academic records, if applicable (certified copy)
- Proof of registration or application and fee statement (certified copy)
- ID documents of parents/guardians/spouse (certified copies)
- Proof of income of parents/guardians/spouse (certified copies)
- Motivational letter supporting the application
- Proof of residence
