City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality is offering 60 x Emergency Management Services Internship Programme 2020 / 2021.

Internship Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Emergency Management Services Department has the following Internship opportunity available for a period NOT exceeding eighteen (18) months.

Pro Active Services (Inspector) x 1

Appointment Requirements:

  • Grade 12/N3;
  • Higher Certificate in Fire Technology (SAESI) or Level 3 Certificate I.F.E or NQF Level 5 (T1) completed towards National Diploma in Fire Technology;
  • Basic Computer literacy(Word, Excel);
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Pro Active Services (PIER) x 15

Appointment Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Fire Technology, Degree/Diploma in Public Education or Public Management & Governance; Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent NQF level 6;
  • Basic Computer literacy(Word, Excel);
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Project Management x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Higher Certificate in Project Management NQF 5 or
  • Diploma in Project management NQF 6
  • Advanced Computer literacy(Word, Excel);
  • Ability to operate Geographic Information Systems (GIS} technology and systems;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered

IT & Admin Support (Specialist) x 1

Appointment Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management Sciences;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18- 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered

IT & Admin (Systems Admin) x 3

Appointment Requirements:

  • Certificate/Diploma in IT/Electronics/Telecommunication;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

IT & Admin (Office Assistant)) x 1

Appointment Requirements:

  • NQF level 2/3;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Strategic Support & Communication x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Diploma in Communication/Journalism/Media/Public Relations NQF 6 or Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Communication Science would be an added advantage;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Finance (Snr Bookkeeper} x 1

Appointment Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Accounting/Financial Management or equivalent;
  • Basic Computer literacy (Word, Excel);
  • Valid driver’s license Code EB;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18- 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Finance (Supply Chain Management) x 1

Appointment Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Purchasing Management, Public Admin and/or Admin related qualifications;
  • Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Strategic Support (Business Planning & Reporting) x 4

Appointment Requirements:

  • Diploma in Business Administration / Public Administration NQF 5 or  Bachelors  Degree  in Business Administration/ Public Administration NQF 7
  • Advanced Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Research skills and knowledge of any statistical analysis software;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Strategic Support (Employee Wellness) x 4

Appointment Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Social Science
  • Registered with South African Council for Social Services Profession (SACSSP) and Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA)
  • Advanced Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Human Resources x 15

Appointment Requirements:

  • Higher Certificate in Humanities or Diploma in Humanities or other related relevant field;
  • Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered

Corporate Services (Discipline Management) x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Matric, 3 year qualification at NQF level 6 in Labor Relations/Labour Law/Human Resources and Labor Relations;
  • Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18- 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Corporate Services (Investigations) x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Matric, 3 year qualification in Forensic Investigation, Policing, LLB or Labour Relations;
  • Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Corporate Services (Archives & Registry) x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Matric, Higher Certificate in Archives and Records Management, or Higher  Certificate  in Information Management
  • Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

Strategic Support (Occupational Health & Safety} x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Matric, Higher Certificate in Archives and Records Management, or Higher Certificate in Information Management
  • Diploma in Safety Management
  • Computer literacy
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required
  • Ages between 18-35

Operations (Medical) x 2

Appointment Requirements:

  • Matric, Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy;
  • Computer literacy with all MS Packages;
  • Must be able to work extended hours as and when required;
  • Ages between 18 – 35 years; and
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.
