The City of Johannesburg, through the Community Development Department, is inviting applications for the Student Internship Position: Community Development.
This internship opportunity is available within the Business Management Support Directorate and focuses on Governance, Risk Management and Compliance.
The programme is aimed at qualifying students and recent graduates from Johannesburg communities who require workplace exposure as part of their academic qualification or experiential training after completing their qualification.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have Grade 12 / NQF Level 4.
Applicants must also have a Diploma or Degree at NQF Level 6 or NQF Level 7 in one of the following fields:

Risk Management.
Accounting.

Public Administration.
Public Management.

Primary Function
The successful intern will provide administrative and analytical support to the Business Management Support Directorate.
The role focuses on governance, risk management, compliance monitoring, audit coordination and performance reporting.
The internship will expose the successful candidate to municipal governance frameworks, risk management systems, audit processes and compliance reporting requirements.
The role will also help strengthen analytical, coordination and documentation skills in a governance and compliance environment.

The intern will assist the Directorate with the coordination of governance, risk and compliance documentation.
They will assist with the collation and verification of performance evidence.
The intern will provide general office and meeting support.
They will contribute to governance, risk and compliance communication and awareness activities.
They will also support audit preparation and information management.

Applicants must be computer literate, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Applicants must have the basic ability to capture, organise and track information using Excel or similar tools.
