The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is offering an internship opportunity through its Capability Development Internship Programme. Below are the key details and requirements for this internship:
About CSIR: The CSIR is a prominent scientific and technology research organization in South Africa. Its work focuses on researching, developing, localizing, and disseminating technologies to drive socio-economic prosperity in the country. The CSIR plays a role in industrial development and supports the development of a capable state.
Key Responsibilities: The intern in the Capability Development role will have the following responsibilities:
Administration:
- Assist with the administration of Career Development programs.
- Support the implementation of capability development policies.
- Assist in the administration of career ladders.
- Help identify tools and systems for learning and development.
- Assist with the administrative support for capability development programs.
System Support:
- Attend to system-related inquiries.
- Capture assessment inputs.
- Provide systems support to career ladder applicants.
- Provide input on recommendations for system improvements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- National Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology or a related NQF 6 qualification.
- Organizational awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, and disciplines.
- Knowledge of governing legislations such as PFMA, SDA, Labour Laws, governance, etc.
- Knowledge of instructional design theory.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and web delivery tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- High motivation, energy, and proactivity.
- Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new things and analytical skills.
