Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) invites South African TVET and University of Technology students to apply for the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme 2025

Internship Location: CSIR, Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa

In partnership with MerSETA, the CSIR Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme 2025 provides an incredible opportunity for students pursuing studies in science, engineering, and technology fields to gain practical workplace experience. The initiative supports South Africa’s National Development Plan by reducing youth unemployment through skills development.

Fields of Study:
Eligible applicants must be enrolled in one of the following disciplines:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Chemistry
  • Data Science
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Physics
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Chemical Technology
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Bio-Engineering
  • Aeronautical Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be enrolled full-time at a University of Technology
  • Must have completed all coursework and require practical training to complete their National Diploma
