BURSARY OVERVIEW:

ITHUBA is offering a comprehensive bursary opportunity for Grade 12 students aspiring to further their education. Here are the details:

  • Objective: To support South African youth, particularly from previously disadvantaged backgrounds, in their pursuit of quality education, aiming to bridge existing social divides.

ABOUT ITHUBA:

ITHUBA Holdings RF (Pty) Ltd, the 3rd National Lottery Operator, is committed to ensuring that deserving South African youth receive the education they deserve. They are awarding 100% bursaries for 2024, encompassing various aspects such as academic tuition, technology equipment, stationery, study material, accommodation, and a stipend.

BURSARY FOCUS:

The ITHUBA Bursary Programme encourages applicants aspiring to study:

  1. Commerce: Accounting, Management Accounting & Finance, Marketing
  2. Information Technology: Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Communication Networks, Software Development

These fields are in high demand for talent, particularly in South Africa, aiming to address skill shortages in crucial sectors amidst high inequality rates.

BURSARY COVERAGE:

Successful candidates will receive comprehensive support covering tuition fees, accommodation, textbooks, laptops, and a stipend.

ELIGIBILITY/SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A 70% average or higher for each subject in the previous academic year
  • A total average of 70% or higher across all subjects in the previous academic year

Additionally, applicants must provide the following documents:

  • Certified copy of South African ID and legal guardians’ IDs
  • Proof of legal guardian’s income (not exceeding R350,000.00 per annum)
  • Certified copy of the latest academic results
  • Provisional letter of admission from a South African tertiary institution
  • Provisional letter of admission from a South African tertiary institution’s residency or private accommodation
  • Motivational letter explaining why they deserve the bursary and their contribution to community upliftment.
