An international agrochemical manufacturer is seeking a dynamic Field Scientist Intern to plan, execute, analyse and report on trials for the successful registrations of key products, and provide support to the marketing and sales strategy, new product introductions and sales promotion trials.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. Degree in Plant Pathology, Weed Science or Entomology
  • Previous experience in crop protection or agricultural product development would be ideal
  • Must be willing to work in the field and manage various trials
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Successfully planning and executing all trial types, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
  • Participating in and contributing to protocol management.
  • Managing all agronomical aspects of the demonstration trials.
  • Arranging demonstration trial visits with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Arranging demonstration days to train internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reporting trial results in systems, including observations/results not specified in the protocol.
  • Identifying problems, opportunities and threats.
  • Providing technical assistance to sales and marketing.
  • Validating results and giving recommendations / insights on the performance of tested products and solutions at single trial level.
  • Following-up on external trials and on the ground interaction with 3rd parties.
  • Maintaining equipment and stores.
  • Establishing good relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including distributors, agents, growers and industry related organisations.
  • Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activities in order to adapt to changing environments.
  • Driving standardisation and transformation of ways of working.
  • Spreading expertise through training and sharing of best practices when required.
  • Ensuring that all operations under direct control comply with HSE  policies and guidelines.
