Midvaal Municipality: Financial Management Internships 2023

Midvaal Municipality invites South African unemployed graduates Financial Management Internship Programme 2023 / 2024.

Internship Location: Meyerton, Gauteng

The Midvaal Local Municipality is inviting recent graduates to apply for the Financial Management Internship Programme for the year 2023. Successful candidates will receive a monthly salary of R11,247.17, totaling an annual package of R134,966.00 for a fixed-term contract of 2 years. Please note that no additional benefits or allowances will be provided.

Midvaal Municipality is situated in the Gauteng province of South Africa and is part of the Sedibeng District Municipality. It is strategically located between Johannesburg and the East Rand, as well as the Vaal and Vereeniging areas.

Only unemployed graduates who meet the specified requirements and reside within the Midvaal area will be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the billing process, including rates and service charges.
  • Providing customer care support in the income section, handling customer queries and complaints.
  • Assisting with cashiering when necessary.
  • Contributing to the completion of National Treasury reporting templates.
  • Assisting with the compilation of reconciliations.
  • Performing other administrative functions.
  • Supporting Expenditure and Supply Chain Management (SCM) related tasks.
  • Assisting with Asset Management functions.
  • Contributing to Risk, Insurance Claims, and Compliance matters.

Requirements:

  • A three-year bachelor’s degree or National Diploma with majors in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, and/or Auditing, or an equivalent qualification in line with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including knowledge of spreadsheet software on Windows.
