MOFCOM Scholarship 2025 for Master’s and PhD Study in China (Fully Funded)

The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) invites high-level business officials and senior managers from developing countries to apply for the MOFCOM Scholarship-CSC Programme 2025, for Master’s and PhD studies in China.

Study Location: China (at designated universities)
The MOFCOM Scholarship aims to strengthen international cooperation and capacity building in developing nations by providing fully funded postgraduate education in China. The programmes are conducted in English and are designed for professionals in government, foreign affairs, business, agriculture, education, health, and other applied sectors.
Degree Levels Offered
- Master’s Degree (1–2 years)
- PhD Degree (3 years)
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a developing country (excluding China)
- Be under 45 years of age
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree (for Master’s) or a Master’s degree (for PhD)
- Have at least 3 years of work experience
- Be a public official, senior staff in an organisation, or university researcher
- Be proficient in English
- Be physically and mentally healthy
- Not already studying in China or receiving another Chinese scholarship

The scholarship offers over 35 English-taught postgraduate programmes at top Chinese universities. Some popular options include:
- Master of Public Policy – Peking University
- Master of Business Administration – UIBE / Beijing Normal University
- Master of Public Administration – Tsinghua University
- Master of Public Diplomacy – Jilin University
- Master of International Communication – Communication University of China
- Master of Project Management – Yunnan University of Finance & Economics
- PhD in National Development – Peking University
- Master of International Law and Chinese Law – Wuhan University
- Master of Environmental Engineering – Suzhou University of Science and Technology

Scholarship Benefits
The MOFCOM Scholarship provides:
- Full tuition waiver
- Free on-campus accommodation
- Monthly stipend:
- 36,000 RMB/year for Master’s
- 42,000 RMB/year for PhD
- Teaching and research materials
- Dissertation supervision
- Once-off resettlement fee: 3,000 RMB
- Medical insurance
- One-time round-trip airfare, and annual return ticket for PhD students

Review the requirements of your preferred university from the 2025 MOFCOM Degree Programme list.
Step 2: Scholarship Application
- Visit CSC Online Application System or Campus China
- Select Programme Category: Type A
- Enter Agency Number: 00010
- Submit your complete application (as a single PDF file) to the Chinese Embassy in South Africa at:
